ALMAY Cleansing Lotion for Dry Skin with Cucumber ($10.99 for 4 ounces) Cleansing Lotion for Dry Skin with Cucumber is a gentle, water-and silicone-based cleanser that is suitable for dry or sensitive skin. It contains a mild detergent cleansing agent along with plant oil to help dissolve makeup, and it rinses well without leaving skin greasy. Although this does contain cucumber extract, with the claim that it can hydrate or replenish skin, it can’t. It is great that this cleanser is fragrance-free. Note: this cleanser was discontinued in December 2008. Paula also recommends Neutrogena Extra Gentle Cleanser ($7.19 for 6.7 ounces).

 ELEMIS Daily Redness Relief ($79.00 for 0.5 ounce) Daily Redness Relief offers little hope of making inflamed skin look less red. If anything, this light-textured moisturizing cream is bound to make sensitive, reactive skin worse due to the amount of fragrance it contains (both synthetic and plant-based). Meanwhile, the amount of soothing agent is minor and incapable of stopping the irritation inherent with such ingredients as rosewood oil and eugenol.
