BEST

JANE Translucent Loose Staying Powder ($3.79) is also known as Staying Powder Loose Powder. Although recommended to control shine (which most powders do), it’s actually a great option to add a polished, smooth finish to makeup for those with normal to dry skin. The talc-based formula feels almost creamy, and has a wonderful affinity for skin. Two of the three shades are excellent options best for fair to light skin; the Colorless shade has a soft yellow cast (so it’s not really without color); Sheer Shimmer applies sheer, but leaves behind large particles of shine that cling poorly, so it is not recommended. Find It!

WORST

PHILOSOPHY The Microdelivery Multi-Use Peel Pads ($55 for 100 pads) contain a good concentration of lactic acid at the right pH for it to exfoliate, and the company wants you to know these pads can be used from head to toe. However, doing so will prove extremely irritating because this AHA solution also includes eucalyptus, tangerine, lavender, and lemon peel oils. Talk about a burn for your pocketbook and your skin!
