BEST
Avon Healthy Makeup Mousse Foundation ($12). This is an outstanding silicone-based cream-to-powder foundation that has a unique pillowy texture that disappears into skin, providing light coverage that can be built up if needed. Thanks to the silicone, pores and fine lines are instantly smoothed away (temporarily of course) leaving a true matte finish that oily skin types will truly appreciate. (In fact, this foundation is so mattifying, it likely will cause dry skin to look worse.) As is the case with most Avon foundations, the shade range, while not perfect is still impressive with workable options for all skin tones. Avoid Medium Beige and Pure Beige, both of which are too peachy-pink for medium skin tones.
WORST
Artistry by Amway Lip Chic Transparent Lipstick Sealer ($14.99). This product is meant to help your lipstick last longer and prevent feathering, but instead it wreaks havoc on your lips! From the moment you open this, the smell of alcohol is so strong that it could singe your nose hairs—the first indicator that it contains irritating ingredients. Not only does it smell terrible, it creates a strong burning sensation on the lips, too! Whether or not Lip Chic Transparent Lipstick Sealer helps lipstick stay on, it's not worth the damage it does to your lips. For long-lasting, worry-free lip color you're much better off going with a product such as Cover Girl Outlast or M.A.C. Pro Longwear Lipcolour.
