 Revlon Matte Powder Blush ($9.99). This is a very good sheer powder blush with a genuine matte finish. Revlon took the matte name literally and delivered a beautiful yet small range of pastel-ish colors best for fair to light skin tones. The texture is silky and you'll need to layer this if you want more than a soft wash of color, but it is worth considering if you've been dismayed by the lack of good matte blushes.
 Neutrogena Mineral Sheers Concealer Kit SPF 20 r($14.49). I'll get right to the point: don't bother with this terrible concealer kit. The creamy concealer has a soft, frosting-like texture that makes it very easy to over-apply. Even when you're careful with how much is used, the formula remains creamy (almost greasy) and crease mercilessly. Setting it with the accompanying powder (it is cleverly hidden in a jar underneath the concealer) enhances longevity but actually makes this concealer look worse on skin. The sunscreen is pure titanium dioxide, but the amount of this active (over 20%) is a major contributor to why it look so unnatural and chalky on skin. This is not the way to enjoy mineral makeup! The shades are mostly good, but so what—this is one of the worst concealers at the drugstore.
$$$ Boscia Skin Refining Treatment ($48 for 1 ounce). This water-based serum contains enough silicone to have the requisite silky finish. Unfortunately, other than containing some good water-binding agents, there's not much else to extol. Antioxidants are in short supply, and despite everything this serum brags about not containing, it doesn't feature an impressive roster of key ingredients to make it competitive with serums rated Paula's Pick. Jujuba fruit extract is the major plant in this serum, and there's no reliable information available about its effectiveness (or lack thereof) for skin.
